The Junior League of Calgary reaches out to all women who demonstrate an interest in and commitment to voluntarism. Membership in the Junior League is limited to women 18 years and older.

By joining the Junior League of Calgary, your life journey can include opportunities to:

  • Help build a better community through effective volunteering,
  • Develop relationships with community partners,
  • Build long-lasting friendships with JLC members,
  • Benefit from valuable training that translates into other business and personal endeavours, and
  • Gain hands-on experience in governance and management of a not-for-profit organization.

Since 1950, the Junior League of Calgary has effectively worked to build a better Calgary community while developing the potential of its members and women and families throughout the Calgary community. Through the power of connections, the JLC endeavours to enrich our communities by focusing our member and financial resources in ways that recognize diverse perspectives, by building partnerships in the community to address critical community needs, by initiating shared solutions with our community partners, and by providing fellowship and training for our membership. Each month our members actively volunteer in our community and within our organization to build better communities.

The Junior League of Calgary has three categories of membership:

  • Provisional Member
  • Active Member
  • Sustaining Member

Provisional Members are those members who are engaged in orientation established by the JLC to prepare them for effective community and League involvement. Active Members are those members who have completed provisional orientation and maintain active membership by demonstrating volunteer service to our community and our League as defined by the JLC. Sustaining Members are those members who have fulfilled at least 5 years of active membership requirements as defined by the JLC and who continue to support our League and community.
