The JLC is kicking off its League year with its first general meeting on Monday, September 20. The meeting will be both in-person and available via Zoom. In addition to reconnecting with members and transacting League business, our guest speaker will be Krista Flint, Executive Director of Highbanks. Krista is a mom, an advocate, a writer, and a thankful participant in the non-profit community in Canada. The JLC has partnered with Highbanks since 2008. Once monthly, JLC members host the NOURISH program at Highbanks.
The Junior League of Calgary remembers Doris Fyvie, an Emeritus Member. Doris died on January 7, 2021. Doris joined the League in 1963 and remained a member until her death. She was recognized during the Emeritus Tea, but she was unavailable for interview. As a lasting legacy of her commitment to the JLC, her family has asked that remembrance donations be directed to the NOURISH program.
