30 May KITK Fuels Conversation on Alberta Primetime
The Kids in the Kitchen (KITK) program delivered by the Junior League of Calgary was the catalyst for conversation about healthy eating, active living, and childhood obesity during the Monday, May 26 edition of Alberta Primetime Vocal Point. Video of Chef Will Kwong, guest chef and Executive Sous Chef with Calgary Stampede, making and serving Frog Smoothies and the reaction of students to its taste was included. Lynne Christensen, President of the JLC, provided historical context for the international program delivered at 200 schools by Junior League members in the United States, Canada and the United Kingdom. The KITK program adopted by the Association of Junior Leagues International is based on the Junior Chefs program which was developed by the Junior League of Calgary.
