17 Jan In Remembrance – Kay Grove
The Junior League of Calgary remembers Kay Grove, an Emeritus Sustaining Member. Kay died on January 13, 2022. Kay joined the JLC in June 1965 and remained a member until her death. When interviewed for the Emeritus Tea, she recalled her most significant memory of her days in the Junior League stemmed from the joint project with the YMCA, teaching English to New
Canadians. She also remembered the fun shifts at the Shop and being in the kick line at Stir-Up. When asked about her responsibilities with Stir-Up she replied, “you had to ask everyone you knew to attend”. Kay said it was great to be Chairman of the Community Research Committee. She recalled that the League had been supporting the Philharmonic for a number of years, and her committee looked for other causes to support. Kay also served on the Children’s Theatre production of “Little Red Riding Hood”, in charge of sound effects.
